Columbus Pre-School

Kindergarten placement

Kindergarten exmissions is a process that starts when your child enrolls at Columbus. We’re with you every step of the way, getting to know your unique learner, helping them grow, and finally making sure you find the right fit for kindergarten.

planning Ahead

your child is a unique learner

Throughout your child’s time at Columbus, our teachers and exmissions staff are getting to know your learner. From the 2s year on, student portfolios are shared between teachers ensuring your child is well-understood as a learner so that we can help guide you to the right kindergarten choices.

Whether opting for public or private school, parents will have access to parent panels of former, seminars conducted by educational consultants, and one-on-one meetings with the director. One-on-one kindergarten meetings begin in the 3s year, and continue until you’ve found the right place to move on to.

SO MANY paths TO CHOOSE FROM

finding the right kindergarten fit

In the spring of the 3s year, we’ll have info sessions and 1:1 meetings to learn what families are looking for in a school, and to share suggestions.

Once the 4s year begins, we’ll take a hands-on approach to exmissions, assisting parents with preparing for tours and playdates, follow-up etiquette, proper school contacts, parent essays, references, and any and all kindergarten questions in between.

We’ll help you make your final decisions, and navigate other considerations like waitlists and financial aid, if applicable. At the end of the process, your child will be placed in the perfect kindergarten.
