Kindia Payano is passionate about education, with degrees in Childhood Education and Early Childhood Education. Kindia is joining us most recently from Hunter College Elementary School. She is a local New Yorker from the Bronx. Her parents are both deaf, so she is fluent in American Sign Language, and loves to bring this into the classroom.
I am excited to introduce you to the many wonderful things about Columbus Pre-School that made me want to join as director 12 years ago.
Our sun-drenched classrooms, gymnastics studio, and large outdoor space provide diverse experiences that support every aspect of child development. Our nurturing, dedicated early childhood educators deeply respect children, and it shows, from the care put into the aesthetics and functionality of our classrooms, to the provocations set up to spark creativity, from the way students’ ideas fuel our emergent curricula, to the thoughtful documentation and displays of student work.
As the parent of a graduate, I know first-hand how the foundation laid here at Columbus helped make my daughter, Marlow, into a kind and inclusive friend and a creative and confident student.
